Mildred L. Cox

Mildred L. Cox, 73

CLAYTON - Mildred L. Cox, passed away Monday, March 16, 2009, in Bayhealth/Kent General Hospital. She was 73. Mrs. Cox was born Sept. 21, 1935 in New Castle, the daughter of the late John T. and Sue Gill Wallace. She worked in several cannery plants in the Clayton, Smyrna and Dover area. Mrs. Cox enjoyed housekeeping, caring for her children, crocheting, reading and making crafts with plastic canvas. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James H. Cox Jr. She is survived by her husband, James H. Cox; six children, Dorothy Sipple of Dover, Mary Lou Channel of Smyrna, William Cox of Hockessin, John Cox of Clayton, Robert Cox of Middletown and Michael Cox of Dover; a sister, Joannie Cox of Newark; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2009 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main Street, Smyrna, where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna.
