Mildred Joan Perry Mildred Joan Perry passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023.
She was born in Washington, DC and grew up in Silver Springs, MD, the daughter of the late Phillip and Mildred Merkling.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, George.
She retired from Verizon after 44 years, she had started when it was Diamond State Telephone Company as a service representative. After her retirement she volunteered at Daybreak Adult Care at the Modern Maturity Center for 19 years. She loved animals and volunteered at the SPCA and fostered many animals.
She is survived by her three children, Chris, Phillip and his wife Brenda, and Lynn; and grandson, Justin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 109 Dixon Street, Harrington, DE. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to St. Bernadette Church.
