Mildred Allene Dove

Mildred Allene Dove, 78

MILLINGTON, Md. - Mildred Allene Dove, of Millington, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. She was 78.

Mrs. Dove was born on Dec. 31, 1929, in Whiteville, N.C., daughter of the late Shade and Edna Hinson Fisher.

She was a retired American Postal Workers Union employee and daycare provider.

Her interests included spending time with her family and friends, gardening and collecting teddy bears.

Mrs. Dove was preceded by her husband of 55 years, Alfred Warren Dove Sr. in 2003; two sons, Alfred Warren Dove Jr. in 2004 and Ronald Keith Dove in 1976; and two sons-in-law, Charles Larry Leager and David Brian Walls.

She is survived by her son, Gary M. Dove and his wife Louise of Church Hill; two daughters, Patricia L. Leager of Marydel, and Kathy Marie Walls of Crumpton; one sister, Thelma Blackmon of Whiteville; one brother, Thomas Fisher of Chadbourn, N.C.; eight grandchildren, Wayne Walls, Shelly Walls, Roxanne Dove, Michelle Dove, Melissa Dove, Brandy Dove, Valerie Dove and Jennifer Dove; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A gathering of friends are welcome to visit at the home of Mrs. Dove, 30243 Morgnec Road, Millington, at 5 p.m. today.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
