Wes Moore forms bipartisan governors group on AI, citing federal inaction
SUMMARY: Gov. Wes Moore of Maryland is forming a bipartisan group of governors to address concerns about artificial intelligence. He argues that states need to act due to federal inaction on the issue. Moore criticized President Donald Trump's recent meeting with AI executives, calling it a “billionaire boys club.” As chair of the National Governors Association, Moore plans to develop an AI framework with Republican Gov. Mike Braun of Indiana. Governors from both parties are participating. States like Maryland, California, and Texas have already taken steps to create AI standards, while federal action remains slow.

Judge overturns Trump's decision to fire court-appointed US attorney in Seattle
SUMMARY: A judge has overturned President Donald Trump’s decision to fire the court-appointed top U.S. prosecutor in Seattle. It's the latest development in a legal tug-of-war over the administration’s efforts to control who occupies the powerful Justice Department posts. The 17 judges in the Western District of Washington unanimously named Roger Rogoff, a former judge and veteran prosecutor, U.S. attorney in July, after Trump failed to fill the post with a nominee confirmed by the U.S. Senate. The president fired Rogoff less than an hour later. Rogoff sued, and in a ruling Thursday, Judge Stanley Bastian found the termination unlawful and reinstated him. The Justice Department said it would appeal.

Jayden Daniels shrugs off elbow fears as Commanders weigh Colts start in London
SUMMARY: Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels says he has no concerns about re-injuring his left elbow and is “taking it day by day” on the possibility of starting against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Daniels dislocated his elbow in Week 2 against the Dallas Cowboys. He says he doesn’t need immediate surgery. Daniels missed last Sunday’s game against the Seahawks. Marcus Mariota threw three touchdown passes in the 33-31 win. Head coach Dan Quinn says Daniels would get more reps as the week progressed and by Friday “we’ll have a definite determination of where we’re at.”

Colts and Commanders try to build on Week 3 wins when they face each other in London
SUMMARY: Last November, the Indianapolis Colts went to Europe and came home with an 8-2 record. They’d beaten Atlanta in Berlin and seemed on a glide path to some sort of postseason berth. It turned out to be their last victory of the season. Before too long, quarterback Daniel Jones was hurt, and the bottom fell out during a seven-game skid. Now another international game is on Indy’s schedule — this time in London against the Washington Commanders on Sunday. Both teams should be familiar with the challenges of playing overseas. Washington went to Spain last season and lost to Miami.

Jacoby Brissett and Jameis Winston meet as starting QBs as the Cardinals visit the Giants
SUMMARY: Not long ago, Jacoby Brissett and Jameis Winston were journeyman backup quarterbacks on the downsides of their respective NFL careers. On Sunday, they'll meet as starters when Brissett and the Arizona Cardinals visit Winston and the New York Giants. Brissett has been No. 1 on the depth chart all season, while Winston assumed his spot after Jaxson Dart went down with a knee injury. It has been a mixed bag for each of them, and the difference in their next matchup may come down to who does not turn the ball over.

MLB-best Brewers score in bunches but rarely homer, upending baseball's launch-angle revolution
SUMMARY: The NL Central champion Milwaukee Brewers produced the best record in Major League Baseball and won a franchise-record 103 games with a statistical profile that hadn’t been seen in over six decades. The Brewers had the second-highest scoring output in the majors despite matching the second-lowest homer total of any team. Sportradar says the Brewers are the first club since the 1960 Chicago White Sox to finish among the top three MLB teams in runs scored and among the bottom three in homers. The Brewers are taking that approach into the playoffs as they seek their first World Series title.

DeSean Jackson's release from Eagles in 2014 still doesn't sit well with the dynamic former receiver
SUMMARY: DeSean Jackson still doesn’t like the way his first tenure in Philadelphia ended 12 years ago. Jackson was released by the Eagles in 2014 after his third Pro Bowl season in six years. Chip Kelly, who was the coach and personnel boss at that time, made the decision shortly after a report linked Jackson to reputed Los Angeles gang members and past homicide investigations. Rams' special teams progress will be tested in Philly after Eagles blocked 2 field goals last year

One of those was one on the last play of the game, and it was run back for a touchdown in a 33-26 loss.
