Flights to Los Angeles International Airport halted due to air traffic controller shortage
SUMMARY: The Federal Aviation Administration says flights departing for Los Angeles International Airport were halted briefly due to a staffing shortage at a Southern California air traffic facility. The FAA issued a temporary ground stop at one of the world’s busiest airports on Sunday morning soon after U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy predicted that travelers would see more flights delayed as the nation’s air traffic controllers work without pay during the federal government shutdown. The hold on planes taking off for LAX lasted an hour and 45 minutes and didn't appear to cause continued problems. The FAA said staffing shortages also delayed planes headed to Washington, Chicago and Newark, New Jersey on Sunday.

Tyler Huntley leads Ravens past Bears 30-16, Derrick Henry scores 2 TDs for Baltimore
SUMMARY: Derrick Henry ran for two touchdowns, Tyler Huntley made a big third-down throw late in the fourth quarter and the Baltimore Ravens finally won without Lamar Jackson, beating the Chicago Bears 30-16. The Ravens snapped a four-game skid and ended Chicago’s four-game winning streak. The Bears dominated the first quarter but managed only two field goals in that period and didn’t score again until the fourth. Although Jackson returned to practice this week, he was ruled out Saturday for a third straight game because of a hamstring injury. The Ravens had lost 11 of their previous 13 when their star quarterback didn’t play.

Mistake-prone Bears fritter away 4-game win streak in 30-16 loss to Ravens
SUMMARY: The Chicago Bears’ four-game winning streak is over, mainly because of their inability to tap into their usual formula for success against the Baltimore Ravens. Chicago put together its longest victory run since 2018 by forcing turnovers, running effectively and playing solid defense in the fourth quarter. None of that happened Sunday. Throw in an inordinate amount of penalties and it’s no wonder the Bears' winning streak ended with a 30-16 defeat. The Bears came in with an NFL-best plus-11 turnover differential, but the game's only giveaway was an interception thrown by Chicago's Caleb Williams.

Ravens' Harbaugh calls the mix-up over Jackson's injury status an 'honest' mistake
SUMMARY: Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh says his team’s injury list mix-up was an “honest mistake." The Ravens listed Lamar Jackson as a full participant in practice Friday, then retroactively changed the designation to limited the following day. The team’s explanation was that Jackson had practiced “fully” — but because he didn’t take starter reps, he should have been listed as limited. The NFL said it would look into the matter. According to league policy, full participation means 100% of a player’s normal repetitions.

Orioles hire Cleveland assistant Craig Albernaz as manager after finishing last in AL East
SUMMARY: The Baltimore Orioles have hired Craig Albernaz as their manager. Albernaz, who turns 43 on Thursday, was previously an associate manager with the Cleveland Guardians. He was promoted to that role after serving as bench coach in 2024. Albernaz takes over a Baltimore team that still has plenty of potential despite sliding to 75 wins this year and a last-place finish in the AL East. The Orioles fired manager Brandon Hyde in May, and Tony Mansolino ran the team on an interim basis the rest of the way. Baltimore announced the move Monday.

SUMMARY: New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo has suffered a dislocated right ankle that could end his season. Bengals coach Zac Taylor calls out defense after lackluster performance against the Jets
SUMMARY: Cincinnati Bengals coach Zac Taylor has called out his defense after another miserable performance. The Bengals allowed a whopping 254 yards rushing and 502 yards overall in a 39-38 loss to the New York Jets. They had a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter — and couldn’t close it out. It was New York’s first win in eight games this season. The Jets managed a total of 17 points and 302 yards in the previous two games combined. Taylor says someone on the defensive side has to step up and lead the group.

Yes, those really are the Steelers out there against the Packers. Even if it doesn't look like it
SUMMARY: The Pittsburgh Steelers have donned throwback uniforms for their Sunday night game against the Green Bay Packers. The uniforms honor their inaugural 1933 season. The Steelers swapped their usual black-and-gold uniform for gold jerseys with black vertical stripes and khaki pants. A matte gold helmet replaced their regular black one, but the logo stayed on one side. The team has used various throwback uniforms over the years, including the 1934 "bumblebee" look. The Packers also changed their look, opting for nearly all-white uniforms. The Steelers have had success wearing throwbacks, entering the game 16-5 under coach Mike Tomlin.

Aaron Rodgers wasn't seeking 'revenge' against the Packers, who gave him a reality check instead
SUMMARY: Aaron Rodgers was solid but not spectacular in his first-ever game against the Green Bay Packers.
