Tylenol maker rebounds a day after Trump's unfounded claims about its safety
SUMMARY: Shares of Tylenol maker Kenvue are bouncing back sharply before the opening bell a day after President Donald Trump promoted unproven and in some cases discredited ties between Tylenol, vaccines and autism. Trump told pregnant women not to use the painkiller around a dozen times during the White House news conference Monday. The drugmaker tumbled 7.5%. Shares have regained most of those losses early Tuesday in premarket trading.

The White House says it blocked US Steel's decision to stop processing steel at Illinois plant
SUMMARY: The White House says it intervened to block a decision to stop processing raw steel at U.S. Steel’s Granite City Works plant in Illinois. In a statement, the White House said Monday that Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick delivered the message that President Donald Trump would exercise his so-called “golden share” power. That provision was a key element in the Trump administration’s decision to allow Japan-based Nippon Steel to buy out U.S. Steel. It gives the federal government a say in certain decisions involving domestic steel production. Earlier this month, U.S. Steel said it would stop processing steel slabs at its Granite City Works. On Friday, U.S. Steel reversed course.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for next week.

The Washington Commanders bounced right back just like their bloodied head coach
SUMMARY: The Washington Commanders have produced the bounce-back game they desperately needed after an ugly-looking, injury-filled loss in which their offensive line was a glaring issue, their running game was nonexistent, their defense provided little in the way of pressure or resistance and no one really stood out in a positive way. With some key coaching decisions, steady play from Marcus Mariota in place of Jayden Daniels, a strong ground game and contributions from up and down the roster, Washington beat Las Vegas 41-24 to get itself pointed in the right direction before facing the Atlanta Falcons next weekend. Mariota called the victory a great steppingstone.

Lions run over the Ravens, sack Lamar Jackson 7 times in a 38-30 win over Baltimore
SUMMARY: Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery ran for two touchdowns apiece, and the Detroit Lions bullied their way to a 38-30 win over the Baltimore Ravens. The Lions sacked Lamar Jackson seven times and outrushed the Ravens 224 yards to 85. Detroit scored on drives of 98 and 96 yards against a Baltimore front that was without defensive lineman Nnamdi Madubuike and showed little ability to handle the Lions physically up front. Up 31-24 at the two-minute warning, Detroit converted on fourth-and-2 from their own 49 when Jared Goff completed a 21-yard pass to Amon-Ra St. Brown. Then Montgomery raced for a 31-yard touchdown with 1:42 to play, capping a 151-yard night for the running back.

Ravens pushed around, Jackson chased down in humbling 38-30 loss to Lions
SUMMARY: Pushed around on defense and manhandled when they had the ball, the Baltimore Ravens stumbled mightily at home in an ugly, surprising defeat. The Ravens allowed the Detroit Lions to amass 426 yards — including a whopping 224 on the ground == which proved to be simply too much for Lamar Jackson and Baltimore’s high-powered offense to overcome. Jackson was sacked seven times, Derrick Henry fumbled in the fourth quarter when the game was still close, and Baltimore absorbed a humbling 38-30 loss on Monday night.

Jets have some issues to tackle, especially on defense, after 0-3 start under Aaron Glenn
SUMMARY: Aaron Glenn acknowledged the New York Jets have a few areas in which they need to improve after their 29-27 loss to Tampa Bay on Sunday dropped them to 0-3. Glenn pointed out missed tackles and allowing the Buccaneers to score 10 points off turnovers in the final minutes of the first half. Glenn remains focused on changing the team's attitude, but he knows wins are essential. Justin Fields remains in the concussion protocol and Glenn will wait to see if Fields is cleared before deciding who the Jets' starting quarterback will be at Miami on Monday night against the Dolphins.

Knicks' Josh Hart says he aggravated a finger injury and expects to wear a splint this season
SUMMARY: New York Knicks forward Josh Hart says he recently aggravated a finger injury and expects to wear a splint this season. Hart underwent a procedure on his right ring finger in July after sustaining the injury during the playoffs. After taking time off following that, he said Tuesday he hurt the finger again as he was preparing for training camp that begins Wednesday. Hart said he hated wearing anything on his hands, but wanted to delay surgery so he could be on the court. He acknowledged he might have to consider if the splint affected his play.

Jaxson Dart to start at quarterback for the Giants against the Chargers, AP sources say
SUMMARY: The New York Giants are turning to rookie Jaxson Dart to start at quarterback in their next game Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, two people familiar with the decision tell The Associated Press. Dart replaces Russell Wilson after an 0-3 start to the season. Wilson is expected to dress as the backup with Jameis Winston remaining third on the depth chart. Coach Brian Daboll was noncommittal Monday about who his QB would be after Winston threw two interceptions in a loss to Kansas City. Dart now is set to make his first NFL start after getting a handful of snaps the past two weeks.

Dublin braces for influx of Americans as Steelers-Vikings play Ireland's 1st regular-season NFL game
SUMMARY: Ireland has sent quite a few of its people to America over the years. The United States will be returning the favor this week. The Steelers-Vikings matchup at Croke Park in Dublin is expected to draw a larger-than-usual chunk of U.S.-based fans compared to other international games. It will be the first NFL regular-season game in Ireland, and all sides are hopeful it could lead to more. That would be good news for fans in the states, who have shown massive interest in this one. The NFL says there's been a higher proportion of U.S. interest in this one compared to games in other markets.

Eagles' secret weapon on their way to a 3-0 start? Two blocked field goals and a 61-yard return
SUMMARY: Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter have become key players for the Philadelphia Eagles, not just on defense but also on special teams. On Sunday, they blocked two field-goal attempts by the Rams' Joshua Karty, leading to a 33-26 Eagles victory. Carter's block set up a go-ahead touchdown, while Davis' block and 61-yard return sealed the win. The Eagles are now 3-0. Despite a slow start Sunday, the offense picked up in the second half. Coach Nick Sirianni and players like A.J. Brown emphasize the need for a more aggressive approach from the start.

ACC moving to 9-game football schedule starting next year, aligning with rest of Power Four peers
SUMMARY: The Atlantic Coast Conference is moving to a nine-game league schedule for football while having teams play at least 10 games against power-conference opponents, though there will be variables due to the league’s odd number of football-playing member schools. Going from an eight- to a nine-game model would align the ACC with its power-conference peers in the Big 12, Big Ten and Southeastern conferences. The ACC would join the SEC in playing 10 games against Power Four opponents. The SEC announced its plans for a nine-game schedule last month.

Croke Park's rich history includes Bloody Sunday, Muhammad Ali bout and Queen's visit
SUMMARY: Croke Park will be the setting for the first regular-season NFL game in Dublin when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. “Croker” is more than just a national stadium. It’s the home of the Gaelic Athletic Association, which is deeply rooted in Irish culture and history. Croke Park is practically sacred ground. It was the location of “Bloody Sunday” in 1920, when 14 people were killed after British security forces opened fire on the crowd at a Gaelic football match.
