Michael Robert Dawson, 60
MAGNOLIA - Michael Robert Dawson, 60, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 6, 1949, in Wassau, Wis. He graduated from Mannheim American High School in Germany and continued his studies at Wesley College and Delaware State University. He earned a Master's in Education at Wilmington University. After retiring from the Delaware Army National Guard with 20 years of service, he taught at Holy Cross School in Dover. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, and was an avid Civil War enthusiast. He was preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Owens; step-father, Robert Owens; and father, Harvey Dawson. Michael is survived by his wife of 36 years, Theresa; daughter, Christine and her husband David Corson of Wilmington; son, Patrick Dawson and his wife Anne of Dover; two grandchildren, Sean and Elizabeth; two brothers, David and Richard; and two aunts, Arnelda Weinke and Audrey Parent. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m., Friday, Sept. 11, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10) Dover. Interment will be in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
