DOVER - Michael Miller Hadaway of Dover, died Saturday, April 2, 2011, at Kent General Hospital. He was 75. Mr. Hadaway was born Dec. 22, 1935, in Chestertown, Md., to the late James Joel Hadaway Sr., and Evelyn Russell Hadaway. Michael served in the United States Army, and was a graduate of the University of Maryland. He worked for Prince George's County, Md., as a Social Studies teacher, retiring in 1991. Mr. Hadaway was a former member of Christ Episcopal Church, Accokeek, Md., and a current member of Christ Episcopal Church, Dover. He was preceded in death by his brother, Laurence Hadaway. Mr. Hadaway is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ann Vermillion Hadaway; children, Martha Elizabeth Boyd and her husband Michael of Dover, and the Reverend Michael Hadaway Jr. of Morgantown, W.Va., and his wife Elizabeth Leigh Hadaway; grandson, Stephen Boyd; his brother, James Hadaway and wife Ellen Hadaway, and sister-in-law, Frances Hadaway; and dear cousins, Elizabeth Thibodeau, Mary Ann and Bill Cook, and many others. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday April 7, 2011, at Christ Episcopal Church, 501 S. State St., Dover. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made to Christ Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 1374, Dover, and are accepting flowers.
