Michael J. Lawrie

DOVER - Michael J. Lawrie passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2009. He was born Dec. 22, 1957, in Kent General Hospital, Dover, the son of Eleanor Newman. He worked many years as a painter for a local contractor. He enjoyed fishing/crabbing, gardening, and always knew how to put a smile on your face. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his brother, Billy Newman; two daughters, Desiree Wilson and Jessica Lawrie; one granddaughter, Autumn Wilson; four nieces and nephews, Marcus Lawrie, Destinee Andrews, Shanna Newman, and Nicholas Lawrie; and many friends. At his request, there will be no memorial services, although he is in the thoughts and memories of many and will be missed greatly. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Delaware Hospice for all of their care and support.
