GREENWOOD - Merle L. Lister Jr., of Greenwood, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, in the Christiana Hospital in Newark. He was 53. Born on Nov. 5, 1955, in Milford, Mr. Lister was the son of Merle L. Lister Sr. and Anna Pauline Breeding Lister, both of Denton, Md. He was a road construction worker for the Mumford and Miller Company in Middletown. Merle loved spending time with his family and friends. During the spring and summer, Merle was an avid fisherman and was part of the Three Rivers and Stump Jumpers Bass Clubs. When fall came, he was ready to go quail and waterfowl hunting with his son and friends. Mr. Lister is survived by his wife, Frances S. Lister of Greenwood; one daughter, Kelly L. Lister and her companion Nick Eldredge of Denton; two sons, Jeremy L. Lister and his wife Bonnie of Harrington, and Dylan L. Lister of Greenwood; a granddaughter, Hailey Lister of Harrington; two sisters, Debbie Zeroles and her husband Joe of Harrington and Sharon Breeding and her husband Terry of Denton; three brothers, J. Paul Lister and his wife Jayne of Denton, Scott Lister and his wife Terri of Denton, and Daniel E. Lister and his companion Rhonda Willey of Bridgeville; his mother-in-law, Vivian Matucek of Laurel; a brother-in-law, Gary Brittingham and his companion Roxanne of Laurel; two sister-in-laws, Connie Mitchell and her husband Barry of Laurel and Janice Dickerson and her husband Dickie of Laurel; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Laurel. Friends may call from 7 until 9 p.m. on Saturday evening at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton, MD 21629. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Peach Blossom 4-H Club, 397 Todd's Chapel Road, Greenwood, DE 19950.
