Melvin 'Bud' Donovan, 77 FEDERALSBURG, Md. - Melvin W. "Bud" Donovan, of Federalsburg, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 77. He was born May 27, 1932, in Federalsburg, the son of the late Elwood J. Donovan, Sr. and Daisy Lily Handy Donovan. He had retired from the former Comfort Heat & Air Conditioning Company. He attended New Liberty Wesleyan Church in Federalsburg. He enjoyed repairing small engines and lawn mowers. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Josephine E. "Jo" Limore Donovan, whom he married on July 1, 1955; three children, Linda Emory (Tab Banks) of Laurel, Del., John Donovan (Janice), and Lisa Harris (Allen), all of Federalsburg; five grandchildren, Tim Foskey, Jr. (Kelly), Jamie Donovan (Jason Towers), Joshua Harris, Katelyn Harris, and Michael Harris;two step-grandchildren, Erin Shockley (JR) and Ingrid Peterson (Christian); two great-grandchildren, Carter Foskey and Cole Foskey; a step-great-grandchild, Carter Shockley; four siblings ,Gladys D. Auld of Seaford, Jane Joseph and Robert L. "Bobby" Donovan both of Bridgeville, Del., and Darlene Beauchamp of Federalsburg; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Melvin "Chip" Donovan, Jr.; a granddaughter, Brandy Donovan; and three siblings, Elwood "Toby" Donovan, Jr., Katherine Berklew, and Sewell Donovan. Funeral services will be noon, Thursday, Dec. 31, at the Framptom Funeral Home in Federalsburg with Rev. Tim Wilson and Rev. Bob Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federalsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
