Melissa Dee Stubbs, 36 HARRINGTON - Melissa Dee Stubbs, 36, of Harrington, had bravely fought Lymphoma cancer for two years, but died peacefully with her family at her bedside on Thursday, April 22, 2010, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa. She is now resting in the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born on April 9, 1974, in Marshalltown, Iowa. Melissa was the daughter of Jeffrey Mast of Magnolia, and Carol Smith Cagle of Harrington. She was a 1992 graduate of Milford High School and had graduated from the Del Tech Nursing Program with top honors. Melissa was a Licensed Practical Nurse and had worked for eighteen years at Christiana Care\VNA. She loved baking, gardening, and spending time outside with family. But, most of all, she loved her husband, children, and all of her family; and she loved her church family at the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington to which she belonged. In addition to her mother and father, Melissa is survived by her husband, Robert "Rob" L. Stubbs, Jr. of Harrington; two daughters, Emily Stubbs and Sarah Stubbs; and a son, Collin Stubbs, all at home; two sisters, Christina Mast of Harrington, and Michelle Mast of Harrington; one brother, Ryan Mast of Milford; her maternal grandmother, Marie Smith of Lincoln, Iowa; her paternal grandmother, Margaret Klink of DeKalb, Ill.; her paternal grandfather, Dale Mast of Brighton, Colo.; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, James Smith; and her step-father, Rick Wagner. Funeral services will be noon, Tuesday, April 27, at the Calvary Wesleyan Church in Harrington, where friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until noon before the service. The officiating Pastor will be Rev. Thomas A. Dill, Sr. of the Church of The Nazarene in Roanoke, Va., assisted by the Calvary Wesleyan Church Sr. Pastor, Rev. Kenneth B. Figgs and the Assistant Pastor, Rev. Barry L. Cauthren. The interment will be in the Denton Cemetery at 24865 Meeting House Road, Denton, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests for friends to send memorial donations to the Calvary Wesleyan Church for the Promise Land Building Fund, 240 Delaware Ave., Harrington, DE 19952.
