...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EDT
FOR SOUTHWESTERN CHARLES AND KING GEORGE COUNTIES...
At 440 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms with a history of producing wind
damage were located along a line extending from near Quantico to
near Stafford to near Fredericksburg, moving east at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Damaging winds will cause some trees and large branches to
fall. This could injure those outdoors, as well as damage
homes and vehicles. Roadways may become blocked by downed
trees. Localized power outages are possible. Unsecured
light objects may become projectiles.
Locations impacted include...
King George, Dahlgren, Fairview Beach, Potomac Creek, Nanjemoy Creek,
Popes Creek, Port Tobacco River, Wicomico, Passapatanzy, Cobb Island,
Rock Point, Issue, Potomac Beach, Weedonville, Tompkinsville, Ninde,
Bel Alton, Swan Point, Sealston, and Jersey.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
