BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED

Flood Warning

National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC

457 PM EDT Wed May 14 2025

...Observed flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and

increased in duration for the following rivers in West Virginia...

Maryland...

Potomac River at Paw Paw affecting Morgan, Hampshire and Allegany

Counties.

For the Potomac River...including Paw Paw...Minor flooding is

forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

cars through flooded areas.

The next statement will be issued late tonight at 500 AM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE TOMORROW MORNING...

* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and minor flooding is

forecast.

* WHERE...Potomac River at Paw Paw.

* WHEN...Until late tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 30.0 feet, Paw Paw Tunnel Campground begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 4:30 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 30.1 feet, or 5.1 feet

above flood stage.

- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours

ending at 4:30 PM EDT Wednesday was 30.1 feet.

- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage

late tonight and continue falling to 16.6 feet early Saturday

afternoon.

- Flood stage is 25.0 feet.

- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

30.2 feet on 03/08/1967.
