BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED

Flood Warning

National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC

220 PM EDT Tue May 13 2025

...The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has

issued a Flood Warning for the following rivers in Maryland...

Wills Creek near Cumberland affecting Allegany County.

For the Wills Creek...including Cumberland...Minor flooding is

forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive

cars through flooded areas.

The next statement will be issued late tonight at 230 AM EDT.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE TONIGHT TO LATE TOMORROW

MORNING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wills Creek near Cumberland.

* WHEN...From late tonight to late tomorrow morning.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Water reaches a private bridge near

Corriganville, and a car wash at Motor City. Water also reaches

the parking lots of businesses along route 36 at Motor City.

Vehicles may need to be moved to higher ground.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...

- At 2:00 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 7.4 feet, or 2.6 feet

below flood stage.

- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage

just after midnight tonight to a crest of 10.2 feet just

after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage

late tonight.

- Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of

10.3 feet on 11/28/1993.
