CRISFIELD — Mayor Kim Lawson invites the public to attend the 15th annual Crisfield Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast set Thursday, May 7 at the Crisfield Church of God. Organized by the Crisfield Ministerial Association, the breakfast buffet begins at 7 with the program starting at 7:30. Tickets are $15 per person or $105 for a table of eight.

The featured speaker will be the Rev Phillip Huber, Lutheran Partners in Disaster Response coordinator, who has been instrumental in the creation and work of the Somerset County Long Term Recovery Committee which formed in response to rebuild homes damaged by superstorm Sandy. This a 501(c)(3) organization is made up of some 40 ecumenical, faith-based and non-profit partnerships.

A Mid-Atlantic Region coordinator for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Rev. Huber is also vice chair of Maryland VOAD, short for Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster.

Rev. Huber is pastor of St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Woodbridge, Va., and taught for six months in Tanzania. In December he received a Governor’s Citation for his “tireless work and leadership” on the SCLTRC.
