Mayer: Hits just keep on coming, with Venezuela the latest

I just forced myself to listen to our dear leader rambling on about the attack on Venezuela. Once again, demonstrating his remarkable inability to focus on one topic, he pivoted to bragging about all the success he has had in office, reminding us how fortunate we are to have him as our bold leader, how inept previous presidents were and on and on. The usual recipe: lies, insults and threats.

Two thoughts came to mind:

1. Many of his supporters are quick to proclaim how the USA has regained respect around the world, a claim our dear leader promotes. Interesting. Some of the coverage I’ve seen about reactions from other countries include “outrage,” “concern” and “caution.” Nary a mention of “respect.”
2. To those who mocked the “No Kings/Dictators” protests: Are you finally getting some idea what we feared?
