Maurice V. Cecil

CENTREVILLE, Md. - Maurice Vincent Cecil, of Centreville, died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011. He was 72. Born Nov. 1, 1938, in Wye Mills, Md., he was the son of the late, Claude H. and Frances A. Thomas Cecil. He attended Centreville High School and after high school he served in the Centreville National Guard. He then began working as a milk truck driver. He later worked for Queen Anne's County Roads as a foreman from 1958-1987. On June 13, 1958, he married the former, Evelyn Burris. Mrs. Cecil died on Jan. 29, 2009. Mr. Cecil is survived by six sons, Jeffery Dale Cecil of Marydel, Md., Vincent Lee Cecil of Centreville, Md., Mark Claude Cecil of Preston, Md., Monty Gene Cecil of Millington, Md., Ricky J. Cecil of Trappe, Md., and Andy Rufus Cecil of Centreville, Md.; a daughter, Amy May Pajula of Dover; four brothers, Claude Cecil of Federalsburg, James Cecil of Laurel, Del., Donnie Cecil of Laurel, Del., and Richard Cecil of Seaford, Del.; two sisters, Barbara Lord of Federalsburg, and Joyce Bennett of Laurel, Del.; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was pre-deceased by a grandchild. Funeral services will be held at the Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, P. A., Centreville, Md., on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011, at noon, where friends and family may call on from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at Chesterfield Cemetery, Centreville, Md.
