DOVER - MaryAnn MacDonald went home to be with the Lord, Monday, May 29, 2017, in Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital.
MaryAnn was born Jun. 16, 1944, in Philadelphia, Pa., to the late, Walter & Mary (McKenzie) Pomroy.
She had worked as a teachers aide at Smedley Elementary School, in Philadelphia, for several years before retiring.
In addition to her parents, MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, William H. MacDonald, who passed in 2006; and two brothers, William & Edward Pomroy.
MaryAnn is survived by her two children, Linda Marie Nix & husband, Donald, of Dover; and James William MacDonald, of Camden, N.J.; siblings, Ruth Bailey, Walter Pomroy, Jerry Pomroy, Elizabeth Cella & Paul Houseberg, all of Philadelphia, Pa., Joseph Pomroy, of Clayton, and George Pomroy, of Langhorne, Pa.; the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Jackie Torrez, of Dover; along with several nieces & nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Jun. 3, 2017, in Capitol Baptist Church, 401 Kesselring Ave., Dover; where family and friends may view 1 hour before.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First State Animal Clinic/ Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934 or to the American Lung Association, 422 South Governors Ave., Dover, DE 19904. Condolences may be sent via: www.pippinfuneralhome.com
