HARRINGTON - Mary Viola York, 84, of Harrington, formerly of the Pocono's, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford. She was preceded in death by all of her 12 siblings; two sons, John Joseph and Robert Dominic Falcone; and her late husband, Vinton E. York, whom passed in 2004. She was born in Chester, Pa., daughter of the late Arthur George Hunter and Mary Hoops and was a homemaker. Mrs. York moved to Delaware in 1986 and was a member of St. Bernadette's Church in Harrington. She loved her family and enjoyed attending any sporting events her grandchildren and great-grandchildren participated in. She is survived by three children, Philomena Rumford of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Angela and Donald Wall of Harrington, and Kevin York of Harrington. Also seven grandchildren, Lisa Kolowsky, Danielle Passamonti, Regina Coward, John Falcone, Jr., Gary Speed, Jr. and Sean Speed Sr. and Robert Falcone; and eight great grand- children also, several nieces and nephews. Services will be noon, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at St. Bernadette's Church, Dixon Street Harrington, where friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon for a viewing. Interment will be at Milford Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. P. O. 625, Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home.
