Mary Semonavick

DOVER - Mary Semonavick, of Dover, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Westminster Village, Dover. She was 96. Mrs. Semonavick was born Sept. 8, 1914, in Great Neck Long Island, N.Y., to the late Leon Matowich and Anna Puttray Matowich. She was a homemaker and loved to travel in their motor home as well as crocheting, doing crafts, cooking, baking and enjoyed the slots. Mrs. Semonavick was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, S/MS Ret. William Semonavick, June 23, 2003. She is survived by a son, William Semonavick, Jr. and his wife Sherry of Dover; daughter, Marianne Agnes and her husband Frances of Magnolia; grandchildren, Laura Faircloth of Dover, Cindy Bigman and her husband Tim of Columbus, Ohio, Courtney Vidrine of Dover, Dustin Semonavick of Norfolk, Va., and Frank Myers and his wife Laurie of Slidell, La.; eight great-grandchildren, Noah, Matthew, Dalton, Hayden, Holden, Reagan, Matthew, and Victoria. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 631 S. State Street, Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the Employee Appreciation Fund at Westminster Village Nursing Home, Dover, 1175 McKee Road, Dover, DE 19904. Letters of condolence may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
