Mary Rogers Brittingham

GEORGETOWN - Mary Rogers Brittingham passed away peacefully at Lofland Park in Seaford on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018.
Mary was born in Georgetown to the late Lloyd and Rhoda Jane (Dorey) Rogers. She was a member of the Willing Strivers, Grace UM Church in Georgetown for 74 years, and the American Legion Auxiliary Post #8. She had worked for Layton and Layton Co., Theo Burton Jr and Co., and finally retired from the State of Delaware from the Department of Public Health.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton C. Brittingham; sisters, Evelyn Hammond and Betty Betts; and a brother, Clifton Rogers.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2018 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, DE 19947, where friends may call after 12 p.m. A visitation will also be held the night before on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations in Mary's memory can be made to: Grace UM Church, 7 S. King St., Georgetown, DE 19947.
