YNCH, Md. - Mary Rebecca Walbert "Becky" Meikle, 69, of Lynch, Md., died Feb. 24, 2011, in Hospice Home of Queen Anne's, Centreville, Md. Mrs. Meikle was born on May 1, 1941, daughter of the late George A. and Mary Eilene Forrest Walbert. She was raised in Rock Hall and was a 1959 graduate of RockHallHigh School. She had worked as an office manager for several medical offices in the area. In 1986 she and her husband moved to Hanson Hall Farm in Lynch. She cherished her family and close friendships, and summers in Rehobeth. Mrs. Meikle was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, J.R. Hanson Meikle, Sr., in 2000. She is survived by her two sons, J.R. Hanson Meikle, Jr. and his wife Debbie Baxter Meikle of Lynch and Timothy Jason Meikle of Arlington, Va.; two brothers, Michael A. Walbert and his wife Mary of Winstead, Conn., and Forrest L. Walbert of Still Pond, Md.; a sister, Judith E. Cooper and her husband Steve of Worton, Md.; a grandson, Andrew Hanson Meikle and his companion Nikki Boyles and their son Auden Andrew Meikle; a granddaughter, Katherine Rebecca Meikle and her mother Julia Anne Wilson. A visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 28, in the Galena funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Burial in I.U.
