Mary Magdaline Bickling Leslie

Bickling Leslie, 93 DOVER - Mary Magdaline Bickling Leslie passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Arcadia Nursing Home, Dover. Mrs. Leslie was born Dec. 25, 1919, in Henderson, Maryland to the late Howard Bickling and Bertha Alexander Bickling. She had worked for Playtex "ILC" for many years prior to becoming a clerk and substitute mail carrier for the Marydel Post Office. Mrs. Leslie was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel where she sang in the choir for many years. She was a member and past President of the Homemakers Club and the WSCS. She was also a Charter and Life member of the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and was its founding member. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee A. Leslie; her brother, Joseph Bickling; her sister and brother-in-law, Sarah Edith and Barney Sheppard; and her son-in-law, Charles Robert Warrington. She is survived by her daughter, Jean Leslie Warrington of Dover; her granddaughter, Lisa Warrington Martino and her husband Phillip of Dover; three great-grandchildren who she adored, Hillary Lauren, Nicholas John, and Heather Leigh Martino, all of Dover; niece, Roberta Littlefield and her husband Jon of Camden; sister-in-law, Aliticia Bickling; and her nephew David Bickling and his wife Judy of Dover. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013 at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel, where friends may call from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will be in the Greensboro Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Calvary U.M. Church, c/o Carolyn Thomas, 896 Sandy Bend Rd. Marydel, DE. 19964; or the Marydel Volunteer Fire Company, Ladies Auxiliary, 110 Fire House Ln., Marydel, DE 19964. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
