Mary Lucille Benson, 90

MILLINGTON, MD - Mary Lucille Benson, died Wednesday, September 30, 2009, in her home. She was 90. Mary Lucille Benson was born November 13, 1919 in Chestertown, the daughter of the late Dennis Clark Sr. and Grace Bratcher Clark. Mrs. Benson was a lifetime resident of Kent County and worked for many years as a seamstress for Leeds Travelware in Delaware. Mrs. Benson was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and the Hospital Auxillary. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, bowling, knitting, and crocheting. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Benson; five brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by two sisters, Ethel Virginia Cain and Mildred Stryckling, both of Millington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, MD 21651. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Pondtown, Md.
