Hudson Jones, 86 CHESTERTOWN, MD - Mary Louise Hudson Jones died Sat., Aug. 31, 2013 at the Hospice of Queen Anne's in Centreville, Md. Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 19, 1926 in Rock Hall, Md. the daughter of the late Charles Edward Hudson and Mary "Dowling" Hudson. Mrs. Jones graduated from Rock Hall High School in the class of 1944. She went to work for 5 years for Peerless Fertilizer Co. in Chestertown, Md. In 1960, she became the office manager for Andelot Farms and retired after 23 years in December of 1983. Mrs. Jones joined St. James Church in 1948 and directed the choir there for 25 years. She also served on the administrative board, nominating committee, membership chairperson and served on the memorial fund. She enjoyed bowling, bird watching, reading, eating crabs and playing bingo. In her younger years, she enjoyed playing softball for several leagues. She was always fascinated by nature's wonders and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis J. Hart and Betty Cummings Olah; and one brother, Charles E. Hudson. She is survived by one son, L. Corey Jones and wife Raye C. of Chestertown, Md.; one brother, Richard Hudson of Absecon, N.J.; four grandchildren, Christopher Jones and wife Julie of Glen Arm, Md., Jarred Jones of Chestertown, Md., Lauren Jones and fiancé Kyle Trengo of Church Hill, Md., Michael Walker and wife Sandy of Felton, Pa.; and six great grandchildren, Mackey Jones, Morgan Jones, Anna Jones, Mandy Walker, Cassie Walker and Mikie Walker. Services will be held Wed., Sept. 4, 2013 at 12 noon at St. James United Methodist Church in Worton, MD. A visitation will be held one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be sent to St. James United Methodist Church P.O.Box 156 Worton, MD 21678 or to the Hospice of Queen Anne's 255 Comet Dr. Centreville, MD 21617.
