Mary Lee Tucker

ROCK HALL, MD - Mary Lee Tucker, 86 of Rock Hall, Md., died April 22, 2011 in Chester River Manor. Mrs. Tucker was born on Nov. 8, 1924 in Marion, KY., daughter of the late Charles and Eliza Prowell McClure. She was a 1942 graduate of Francis High School in Fredonia, KY. Mrs. Tucker began her career with Glenn L. Martin Aircraft in Baltimore, Md., as a welder, during WWII. She worked for the Kent County Treasurer's Office in Chestertown, retiring in 1991. Mary was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rock Hall and the Order of Eastern Star-Chestertown Chapter. She enjoyed creative writing and family genealogy research. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, S. Robert Tucker, in 1996; four brothers, James O. McClure, J.D. McClure, Harold D. McClure and R.B. McClure; and two sisters, Marie Noble and Virginia Tyler. She is survived by her children, Kathleen T. Watson and her husband Robert of Chestertown and Robert C. Tucker and his wife Brette of Rock Hall; two sisters, Katherine Rushton of Ellensburg, Wash., and Ella Mae Finnegan of Salem, Oregon; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 26 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 27 at 11 a.m. in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD. Memorials may be offered to a charity of your choice. www.galenafuneralhomeofsls.com
