Mary-Joyce K. Norman, 56 DOVER - Mary-Joyce K. Norman, of Dover, died March 24, 2010, at home. She was 56. Mary-Joyce was born in New Haven, Conn., Oct. 12, 1953, to the late Russell H. Norman Sr. and Edna H. S. Norman. She received a LPN degree and license from Yale University School of Nursing and worked in various facilities where geriatric care became her speciality. Her other "pursuit of happiness" was cooking which she often did for family and friends. She suffered a disabling injury in December 1997 forcing an early retirement and limiting her fishing and traveling but not her singing. Mary-Joyce is survived by her brother, Russell H. Norman Jr. and his wife Patricia; sisters, Hope E. N. Long and her husband Robert, Elizabeth A. Norman with whom she lived; nephew, Jason M. Balisciano and his wife Amy; niece, Jessica L. Balisciano Roberts and her husband Michael; three great-nieces; an aunt, Emily S. Hartley; and uncle, Paul Schmidt. In addition, she had many cousins and friends - old and new, far and near. Because of Mary-Joyce's love of animals and in lieu of flowers, Elizabeth suggests contributions be made to the Kent County SPCA, 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE or any other four-legged charity of choice. Please e-mail any condolences to Torbert Funeral Chapel at torbertfc@yahoo.com.
