LEWES - Mary J. Bixler, formerly of Rockaway Township, N.J., daughter of the late Andrew and Julia Ruschak, died Thursday August 2, 2012 at home. Mrs. Bixler was born November 4, 1924 in Mount Hope, N.J. Mrs. Bixler was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles, and watching game shows. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William in 2003; a sister, Anna Biddescombe; and brothers, William and John Ruschak. She is survived by her five children, Sharon Nelson and her husband Robert, of Belgrade, Maine, Gary Bixler and Jacqueline Gilbert of Wharton, N.J., Thomas Bixler and Debra Saslaw of Springhill, Fla., Sandra Bixler of Goffstown, N.H., and Dennis Bixler of Dover, N.J.; her sister, Barbara Yeager of Lewes; two grandchildren, Dana Maino and her husband H.Thomas of E. Stroudsberg, Pa., Lisa Sevret of Gresham, Ore.; two great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Anna Maino; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2012, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966. A funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, August 7, 2012, at the funeral home, where friends and family may also call after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
