Mary Etta Tripp, 53

NEWARK - Mary Etta Tripp, of Newark, passed away suddenly on Monday, April 7, 2008. She was 53.

She was born on May 17, 1954, in Greensboro, Caroline County, Md., to Frederick E. and Virginia M. Tripp. She was the eldest of four children.

Mary was employed by the Chimes Vocational Center in Newark.

She was fun-loving, witty, charming and full of life.

Mary had a unique way of expressing herself, whether others agreed with her or not.

She always greeted you with a smile and a hug, which would often make one ask what she was up to! She always had a story for you which gave her great pleasure as she shared the information with you.

Mary loved the outdoors. She also loved stuffed animals, crocheting, painting, puzzles and wearing jewelry.

She was also a lover of music. One of her favorite songs was "Yes, Jesus Loves Me."

She also liked The Monkee's theme song and Donna Fargas' song, "Happiest Girl in the Whole USA."

Mary indeed felt like the "happiest girl" as she spent time doing things she enjoyed such as, eating at the Country Buffet, stopping to McDonald's for a Coke, and spending time with her friend Michelle.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her friends, Michelle, Wayne, James, Paul, Anna, Redempta, Amme, Ruth, Terri, Getinet, Zina, Cheyama, Moses, Peterson, Letitia, Irene, Madline, Doreen, Anita, and lastly, John Wheatley.

A celebration of life will take place Friday in the Torbert Funeral Home, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call from 10-11 a.m.

The interment will take place at Barrett's Chapel, Frederica.

Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
