Mary Ellen Snyder

CLAYTON - Mary Ellen Snyder of Clayton, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, June 14, 2012. Mrs. Snyder was born Oct. 10, 1946 in San Diego, Calif., the daughter of the late Paul Raymond and Alice Kennedy Merrell. Mary retired from Salem County Memorial Hospital in Salem, N. J. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and gardening. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Leon Snyder; two sisters, Judith Ann and Pamela Kay; and two brothers, David Allen and Jimmy. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, H. Leon Snyder; two sons, Ronnie Lee Snyder and his wife Robin of Carneys Point, N.J., and Terry Wayne Snyder and his wife Ann of Wilmington, Del.; a daughter, Tammy Doreen Zane and her husband Jeffery of Harpers Ferry, W.V.; two brothers, Edward Merrell and Martin Merrell; three sisters, Paula Kirkland, Jeri Merrell, and Betty Mabe; ten grandchildren; and eigth great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St., Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Smyrna, Del. Condolence letters may be sent by visiting www.fariesfuneralhome.com.
