Mary Ellen Donaway, 79

GEORGETOWN - Mary Ellen Donaway, of Georgetown, died Sept. 8, 2009, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 79. Born in Millsboro, she was the daughter of the late George Edward and Pearl V. Hitchens Hudson. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and the Mary Rebekah Lodge #15, Associated with the Odd Fellows. She was a campground host for many years at Trap Pond. She was a devoted dog lover, and dedicated to her beloved "Skipper." She had a great sense of humor. She is survived by her three daughters, Sharon Jester of Lewes, Gayle Wilson and her husband Charles of Georgetown, and Kara Lambert and her husband Mike of Seaford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Reese W. Donaway in 1997; two brothers, Pete Hudson and Ronald Hudson; and one sister, Geneva Ackerman. Funeral service will be noon, Monday, Sept. 14, with viewing and calling hour one hour prior from 11 a.m. until noon at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. Pastor Mark Erskine will officiate. Interment will be at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. Family suggest contributions to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriot's Way, Milford, DE 19963.
