DOVER - After fighting the good fight, Mary E. Moore, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, after battling pneumonia. Her family was at her side. Born to the late Ralph A. and Sarah B. Moore on Dec. 6, 1929, "Libby" spent her life in the Seaford area. A State of Delaware employee for 20 years, Ms. Moore was an attendant chauffeur for the Division of Developmental Disabilities Services, working mainly out of the Georgetown Day Habilitation Center. She received the prestigious Delaware Award for Excellence and Commitment in State Service in 1995. Ms. Moore enjoyed cooking, reading and watching TV, especially "Little House on the Prairie" and "The Price is Right." She was a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ and a strong financial supporter of the Smyrna Christian School. Ms. Moore was always deeply concerned about those who defend our freedom and about children suffering from cancer. Because of that, she made frequent contributions to those charitable organizations. Ms. Moore loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom were her pride and joy. In addition to her parents, Ms. Moore was preceded in death by her former husband, W. Edward Sellers; and her sister, Frances Anne Kennedy. She is survived by two sons, David A. Sellers and his wife Martha of Vilonia, Ark., and Donald E. Sellers and his wife Alice of Seaford; daughter, Mary E. Kidwell (with whom she resided) and her husband William of Smyrna; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011, at the Smyrna Church of Christ, 1630 Joe Goldsborough Road, Smyrna. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Smyrna Church of Christ, P.O. Box 171, Smyrna, DE 19977. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
