DOVER - Mary Apostolopoulos of Dover peacefully passed away at Milford Memorial Hospital August 29, 2013 with her family at her side. She was 83. She was born August 4, 1930 in Montreal, Canada to the late Dennis Varverikos and Victoria Platis Varverikos. Mrs. Apostolopoulos owned and operated several prominent restaurants in Rehoboth Beach and Dover. She also worked at the Modern Maturity Center. Mrs. Apostolopoulos had a zest for life and enjoyed theater, opera, playing cards and Dominos with the girls, but especially spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Antonios Apostolopoulos in 1986. She is survived by son, Bill Apostolopoulos and his wife Carol of Milton; daughters, Athena Michel and her husband Jeff of Paris, Idaho, Vicky Apostolopoulos and her partner Mary Jo Cauley of Milford; sisters, Helen Lewis of Cornwall, Ontario and Ethel Karalis of Montreal, Canada; twelve grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover, DE 19904. Friends may call one hour prior.
