Scott, 53 GEORGETOWN - Martin K. "Marty" Scott passed away Friday, November 20, 2015. He was born on December 10, 1961 to Delbert and Olilee (Veasey) Scott of Georgetown. Marty was a huge NASCAR fan. He was an avid deer hunter and a member of the Georgetown Hunting Club. He enjoyed spending time outside, going to the beach and camping. Marty especially loved to teach his sons about sports, hunting and anything to do with the wilderness. Over the years he had coached local Little League and football teams. Marty was employed by Comcast Corporation for 28 years as a construction coordinator. He did his job well and devoted a lot of time to it. Marty was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Marion Scott; and his maternal grandparents, Courtland and Ethel Veasey. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 32 years, Donna (Hitchens) Scott; two sons, Tyler Scott and Brian Scott; two brothers, Chris Scott, and Jim Scott and wife Ana; a sister, Beth Scott Eberly and husband Tom; twelve nieces and nephews, a host of extended family and many friends who will miss him every day. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 25, 2015 in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market Street, Georgetown, with visitation after 12 p.m. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
