Marlin Monroe Garris

CAMDEN WYOMING - Marlin Monroe Garris passed away at home on Jan. 16, 2018.
He was born on Aug. 30, 1936 in State Line, Miss. to the late Rollie Rufford Garris and Gertrude Annis Brewer Garris. He received an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force serving in the Phillippines and Dover from 1954-1958. He was a forklift operator for General Foods in Dover from 1964-1996, retiring after 32 years. He was a member of the United States Trotting Association and owned several race horses competing at Harrington, Dover Downs and Ocean Downes. He was also a member of the Camden Moose Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Elizabeth Mizell of Vinegar Bend, Ala. and Anne Everett of Frankville, Ala.
He is survived by his son, Keith Garris of Camden; daughter, Karen deBloois (John) of Camden Wyoming; grandchildren, Derek deBloois, Aaron deBloois, Jessica Garris; sister, Lillian Faith of St. Stephens, Ala.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews from Mississippi and Alabama.
Memorial services will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, and Johnson Creek Baptist Church, State Line, Miss. at the convenience of the family.
