Marjorie M. Reichhold, formerly Marjorie L. McDonough, died on Tuesday, May 19, at Bayhealth General Hospital Kent Campus, Dover, at the age of 101. Marjorie was born on September 5, 1923, in Gary, IN and she moved to Milford, DE from Pittsburgh, PA in 1953. She was the daughter of the late William G. McDonough and Grace Hobby McDonough, and beloved wife of the late Roy William Reichhold.
She is survived by her sister, Audrey Trent (Richard). Marjorie was the mother of Susan Keough (Frank), Nancy Haines (David), Jeannette Steele (Donn) and Bill Reichhold (Pam). She loved her ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren very much.
Marjorie was instrumental in organizing Reformation Lutheran Church in Milford after her move to Delaware in 1953. She was the Welcome Wagon greeter for new families in Milford, and was active in WELCA (Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America) and Home Demonstration Club. She also was a docent for the Milford Museum and was a member of the Milford Historical Society. She began knitting while in college and taught knitting to many area residents; she knitted more than 500 Christmas stockings over the years for family members and friends.
Visitation for Marjorie will be held at 10am on Tuesday May 27, 2025, at Reformation Lutheran Church, 613 Lakeview Ave., Milford, DE, with the funeral liturgy following at 11am. Interment will be held after the funeral at the Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church, and sent to 613 Lakeview Dr., Milford, DE 19963. Arrangements by Lofland Funeral Home, Milford, DE.
