Marjorie Lenora Beck, 85 ROCK HALL, Md. - Marjorie Lenora Beck, of Rock Hall, passed away surrounded by her family on July 22, 2010. She was 85. She was born on Oct. 29, 1924, in Rock Hall, the daughter of the late Charles Frederick and Edith Elizabeth Wheat Jacob. She was the wife of the late Charles "Boo" Beck. Mrs. Beck was educated in Rock Hall where she raised her family. She worked on the water with her husband for many years and was very good at mending nets for the local waterman. She enjoyed knitting, spending time feeding the birds, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Hickman and her husband Ronald of Rock Hall; sister, Elva Lee Chaires of Rock Hall; a brother, Thomas Eugene Jacob of Kennedyville; grandsons, Charles E. Hickman and wife Wendy of Bulffton, S.C., and Michael C. Hickman and his wife Kris of Rock Hall; great-grandchildren, Jennifer, Kylie, Meggan, Jordan, Zachary, Ella and Isabella. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Calvin Jacob and Charles Keith Jacob; along with a sister, Zola K. Nicholson. Services will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home 130 Speer Road, Chestertown, where relatives and friends may call on Monday, July 26, 2010, between the hours of 6 and 8 p.m. Interment will be in Wesley Chapel Cemetery Rock Hall.
