Marion Pratt Wilson

DOVER - Marion Pratt Wilson passed away Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, following a brief illness in Bay Health Kent General Hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Smyrna to Esther and Elmer Pratt. She was a graduate of Smyrna High School and received an Associate's degree from Edgewood Park College. She briefly worked at John Wannamaker's in Philadelphia, Pa. before accepting an administrative position at Wilson Refrigeration in Smyrna. Marion lived in her home in Smyrna for 40 years, where she enjoyed homemaking and entertaining. She opened her own business in interior design in 1970 and operated it for approximately 10 years. In 1990, she and her husband, Ned retired to Rehoboth Beach. In 2004, Marion moved into Westminster Village, where she resided for the past 9 years. Marion was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). She was also a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Smyrna and All Saints Episcopal Church in Rehoboth Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Ned" Wilson, Jr., in 1994; and grandson, Christopher Edward Wilson in 2000. Mrs. Wilson is survived by two sons, Edward "Ted" Wilson, III and his wife, Juanita, of Smyrna, and Jeffrey Pratt Wilson and his wife, Vicky, of Vero Beach, Fla.; grandson, Joshua Pratt Wilson and his wife, Becky, of Washington, D.C.; and two great-grandchildren, Liam and Julia Wilson also of Washington, D.C. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Nov. 27, 2013 at Christ Episcopal Church, 523 S. State St., Dover. The family will be accepting visitors prior to the service beginning at 9:15 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service in Lakeside Cemetery on North State Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to the Westminster Village, Benevolent Support Fund, 191 Westminster Dr., Dover, DE 19904.
