Marion Elizabeth MacDonald, 80
CAMDEN - Marion Elizabeth MacDonald, of Camden, died on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2009. She was 80. Marion graduated from Berkeley High School in Berkeley, Calif., in 1946 and attended San Jose State for 3 years and graduated from Oregon State College in 1950 as a Home Economist. She moved to Camden in 1952. Mrs. MacDonald was the 4-H agent for the University of Delaware in Kent County for 31 years retiring in 1984. Marion was active in 4-H Alumni group (Kent County Links), Soroptimist International of Dover. She was a Director of the Delaware State Fair and volunteered at the Centre Ice Rink at the Fair. Her husband, Ronald A. MacDonald Jr., died in 1996. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mary MacDonald and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Cranston Funeral Home, 300 N. Shipley St, Seaford, on Wednesday from 5 to 6 p.m. followed by a reception with the family at the Seaford Golf and Country Club, 1001 W. Locust St, Seaford, from 6 to 8 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport, Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to Delaware 4-H Foundation, 122 Townsend Hall, Newark, DE 19717; or Kent County 4-H Links, 69 Transportation Circle, Dover, DE 19901.
