DOVER - Marie Wood Camp (Sr. Marie Theresa, Oblate of the Precious Blood) formerly of Dover, died at Caroline Nursing Home in Denton, Md. on Saturday Feb. 7, 2015. Born in Greensboro, Md. on Jul. 16, 1935 she was the daughter of the late C. Henry Wood Sr. and Agnes Cooper Wood. She graduated from Greensboro High School in 1953 and Delaware State College in 1988. Marie spent her working years in education and child advocacy. She had taught at Saints Peter and Paul in Fairmount W. Va. and had later served for over 8 years as a Criminal Justice Counselor at the Stevenson House until 2002. She also served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and had always held the needs of children as her priority in life. In her quiet moments she enjoyed sewing and cooking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John M. Wood. Marie is survived by siblings, Charles H. Wood, Jr. ( Lou), of Leawood, KA, Edward A. Wood of Dover, her twin brother, Robert J. Wood(Mary Ann), of Easton, Md., James A. Wood(Dee) of Camden-Wyoming, C. Raymond Wood(Barb) of Milford, sisters, Nancy Cubbage(Jim) of Smyrna, and Bernadette Gadow of Dover. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Catherine Wood of Denton; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 11:00 at St. Benedicts Church in Ridgely, Maryland. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Denton.
