Marie Stubbs Flanagan Porter

Frederica - Marie Stubbs Flanagan Porter, of Frederica, formerly of Clio, S.C., passed away Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford.
Marie was born, May 24, 1927, in Clio, S.C., to the late John Douglas Stubbs and Mary Wesley Jones.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, of Frederica; a member of the Victory Chapter # 15 Order of the Eastern Star of Dover; and a member of the Chapter # 1546 Women of the Moose, in Wyoming. Marie was also a member of the Kent County Womens Democratic Club, and Committee Woman of the 33rd District. She retired from the Kent County Recorder of Deeds Office, having served 30 years in several positions including Deputy Recorder of Deeds. Marie also worked at the Farmers Bank of the State of Delaware, in Dover.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Thomas Flanagan and Martin Porter; her two brothers, John Douglas Stubbs and James Harvey Stubbs; and two sisters, Mary Pauline McInnis and Eva Eunice Outten.
Marie is survived by her two sons, Douglas Michael Flanagan, and his wife, Diane and Thomas Eugene Flanagan and wife, Patsy, all of Felton; three granddaughters, Theresa Ann Heinold and husband, Michael, of Townsend, Jill Renee Rodelli, of Bear, and Katie Lynn Flanagan, of Felton; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Sue Heinold, of Townsend; and a great-grandson, Dawson Rodelli, of Hudson, Fla.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming; where family and friends may view one hour before. Burial will follow in Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
Marie was a resident of State Street Assisted Living in Dover for the last several years.
