Marie J. Faulkner, 91 RIDGELY, Md. - Marie J. Faulkner, of Ridgely, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at the Coastal Hospice in Salisbury. She was 91 years old. The daughter of Daniel Anthony Deery and Stella Frances Vegelewski Deery, she was born in Wilmington, Del., on Jan. 22, 1919. She graduated from the Conrad High School in Wilmington. Mrs. Faulkner moved to Denton from Marshalton, Del., in 1966 when she married her husband, James C. Faulkner who died Jan. 14, 2002. She worked as a billing clerk for Playtex in Dover, Del., for twenty years before retiring in the 1980's. She then worked at the women's shelter in Caroline County, the Chesapeake Center in Talbot County, and The Gables in Denton. Mrs. Faulkner is survived by one son, Terence P. Faulkner of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; one daughter, Norma L. Schultz of Ridgely; one foster son, William Kessler of Cana, Va.; ten grandchildren, Skip, Gloria, Cindy, Keith, Crystal, Beth, James, Tyler, Duane, and Danny; 11 great-grandchildren; five foster grandchildren; and a special niece, Elma Andrews of St. Simon's Island, Ga. She was preceded in death by one son, Lance Faulkner; one sister, Katherine Andrews; two brothers, Daniel Deery, and Joseph Deery; and one foster daughter, Rita Jansen. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:30 a.m., Saturday, July 31st, at the St. Elizabeth's Roman Catholic Church on First Street in Denton. Friends may visit with the family from 10:30 until 11:15 a.m., before the service at the Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton. The interment will be in the Concord Cemetery on Federalsburg Rd., Federalsburg.
