ELLENDALE - Marie Ellingsworth passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016. She was born in Robbins, the daughter of the late John and Margaret (West) Hitchens. She worked at W.T. Grants and Woolworth, retiring in 1990. She was a member of Ellendale U.M. Church. She enjoyed reading and doing Find-A-Word puzzles. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Ellingsworth; daughter, Margie; brothers, Harvey, Hoyt and Donnie; sisters, Mildred, Ruth and Catherine; and granddaughter, Shari Marie. She is survived by her children, Connie Clark and husband, Bud, Bobby Ellingsworth and Michael Ellingsworth; brother, John Hitchens, Jr.; four grandchildren, Scott (Christine), Chris (Christina), Stacey and Brittany; five great-grandchildren, Cori, Jake, Kaylee, Jacob and Autumn; and sister-in-law, Myrtle Ellingsworth. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 10, 2016 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call after 12 noon.
