MILFORD - Marie Ellen Jones entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at the Milford Center with family at her side. Marie had a genuine love of all people, especially children. She taught Sunday school for over 30 years and held Bible classes in her home. Marie worked in retail stores for many years including, Silco, Ames and Fotohut. Marie was a member of Independent Bible Fellowship Church in Harrington. She had a genuine and real love of Jesus and showed his love in all her actions and in her daily life. Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Archie and Virgie Carey of Lincoln, Del.. Marie is survived by her husband of nearly 52 years, Franklin L. Jones; a daughter, Nancy Shaw; a son, Robert Legates, Sr. and wife, Julie; three grandchildren, Louise Holleger and husband Drew, Rebecca Favinger and husband Matthew and Robert Legates, Jr. and wife Kim; five great-grandchildren, Ashley Messick, Brandon Legates, Katie Favinger, Noah and Abigail Legates; three great-great grandchildren, Aubree, Brody and Liam Messick; three brothers, Donald Carey and wife Cathy, David Carey and wife Janet and Archie Carey and wife Shirley; sister in law, Eliza Stokes and and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held Friday, Dec. 19, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Independent Bible Fellowship Church, 6797 Milford-Harrington Highway, Harrington, Del. A visitation will be held Thursday night (Dec. 18) from 6 to 8 p.m. in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front St., Milford, Del. with an additional visitation on Friday from 12 to 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to services.
