Maria Chalupa Rogers, 85
DENTON, Md. - Maria Chalupa Rogers, of Denton, died Friday, June 20, 2008, at her home. She was 85.
Born in Poland, Mrs. Rogers was the daughter of the late Fador Baraniuk and Sofia Sector Baraniuk.
In 1950, she immigrated to the United States with her first husband, Iwan "John" Chalupa, who died in 1958.
Her second husband, Herman Lee Rogers, died Jan. 28, 2006.
Mrs. Rogers worked as a line worker in food processing plants on the Eastern Shore for years.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She liked to crochet, cook, grow flowers and play the slots.
Mrs. Rogers is survived by three sons, Stefan Chalupa and his wife Mary Ellen of Ridgely, Roman Chalupa and his wife Anita of Centreville and John Chalupa and his wife Linda Sue of Denton; two daughters, Maria Crites and her husband Allen of Denton and Annie Parks and her husband John of Denton; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by one son, William Chalupa, in 1949.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moore Funeral Home, 12 S. Second St., Denton, where friends may visit from 10 until 11 a.m., before the service.
The interment will follow in the Greenmount Cemetery, Hillsboro.
