Marguerite Seacord Bailey, 81

DOVER - Marguerite Seacord Bailey, of Dover, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. She was 81. Mrs. Bailey was born June 22, 1927, in Harrington, to the late Thomas N. Markland and Mattie Tibbitt Markland. She had worked for Capitol School District as a Cafeteria Manger for over 20 years retiring in 1988. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Eastern Star Victory Chapter and was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church for over 60 years. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, John R. Seacord. Mrs. Bailey is survived by her second husband, Harold N. Bailey of Dover; her son, Thomas Seacord and his wife Kathy of Camden; her daughter, Sandra Thistlewood and her husband Jim of Dover; her sister, Doris Gillard and her husband James of Dover; and six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Betty Hatfield; and several nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters, Penny Broomell and her husband Pat of Camden, Sandy Newcomer and her husband Dick of Smithsburg, Md.; and stepson, Hal Bailey of Florida. Funeral services will be noon, Friday, Feb. 6, at the Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 S. State St., Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Trinity Wesleyan Church, 1564 S. State Street, Dover. Arrangements by Torbert Funeral Chapel, Dover.
