Margaret Lorraine Travers Johnson

DENTON, Md. - Margaret Lorraine Travers Johnson, formerly of Federals burg, passed away on Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at the Taylor-Melfa House in Denton. She was 76. She was born Sept. 8, 1934, in East New Market, the daughter of the late Norman Travers and Louise Wheatley Travers Tull. She had worked for 20 years for Safeway in Federals burg and in Easton, and retired from Sisk Fulfillment Service in Federals burg after 20 years of service. Margaret had attended Christ Evangelistic Church in Laurel, Del., and the Gethsemane United Methodist Church in Reliance. She loved her family and enjoyed reading. She is survived by five children, Harold Willard Johnson, and his wife, June, of New Jersey, Diane Johnson Walker of Seaford, Del., Carl Allen Johnson of Bridgeville, Del., Steven Mark Johnson and Kenneth Scott Johnson, both of Florida; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a sister, Norma Lee Murphy of Ellendale, Del.; several nieces and nephews; and a friend and former husband, Carl H. Johnson of Cambridge, Md. She was preceded in death by a son, Danny Ray Johnson on Feb. 20, 2010; and a brother, Harold "Doc" Travers on Nov. 11, 2010. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at 1 p.m. at the Framptom Funeral Home with Rev. Roland Tice officiating. Interment will follow in Hill Crest Cemetery in Federals burg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 to 1 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Caroline Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 362, Denton, MD 21629.
