Margaret K. Walters, 98

Posted

Margaret K. Walters of Dover, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, December 10, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by family members at her granddaughter’s home.
She was born in Fulton, Tennessee, to the late Millard E. and Catherine A. (Chumbler) Berry.
Margaret devoted 37 years of service as an office manager for Sears. Outside of work, she found joy in gardening and was an active participant in ladies’ bible study which she hosted in her home for several years. She was a member of Dover Church of Christ for over 60 years, cherishing the fellowship and faith it provided.
She will be remembered as a reassuring presence for her family, as she cared for multiple relatives in their time of need. Her strength and the morals she lived by will continue to inspire people to do the “right” thing even if difficult.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tracy R. Walters, Jr., her son, Tracy R. Walters, III, her grandson, Tracy R. Walters, IV, and her brothers, Millard, Thomas, James, and Richard Berry.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ruth Ann of Dover, DE: her brother, Robert Berry of Denver, CO: her grandchildren, Carol Burghart (Chris) of Clifton Heights, PA and Jason Luff of Dover, DE: her six great-grandchildren and two great-great granddaughters.
Memorial services will be held 11AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. A visitation will be held one hour prior.
The family requests that, in place of flowers, donations be made to Breakthrough T1D (formerly Juvenile Diabetes Foundation).
