Margaret K. 'Peg' Hartman, 94

CAMDEN - Margaret K. "Peg" Hartman, 94, of Camden, died Sept. 2, 2009, at her residence. Born in Cresson, Pa., she was one of 14 children of the late Francis and Margaret Kirsch. For 16 years she had served as head of the State Tax Dept. in Dover prior to her retirement. She was a world traveler and had visited several countries during her life. She had remained an active person and was an avid bowler up until the age of 90. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin F. Hartman who died in 1993; and her god son and nephew, Francis Donald Austin, September 2008. She is survived by her care-giver and nephew, Henry "Bill" Austin and wife Barbara; niece, Holly M. Curran and her husband, Scott; nephews, Henry W. Austin III, and Gary R. Austin; and niece, Cathy A. Austin; stepdaughter, Mary Miller; and step-grandchildren, Hartman and Jack Miller and Kim Crouch and special step-grandson, Jeff Miller and his wife Joan; her god child and niece, Barbara Lehnus, Carole Leonard; and nephews, Robert and Brenard Austin; two sisters, Dorothy Henning and Teresa Dow; and brother, Mylan Kirsch. Friends may call starting at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Funeral Home of Michael J. Ambruso, 1175 S. State St., Dover, where services will be held at noon. Burial will follow in Lakeside ME Cemetery, North State St., Dover. Family suggests donations in her memory to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
